In recent years, the procedure for distributing bid information to vendors has gone from direct mailing to using our web page; we no longer mail bid packets. In October, the initial advertisement of bid is mailed to vendors who have participated in the past; they are directed to obtain the bid information on our web page. A public announcement is also printed in the Star Gazette’s (our local newspaper) legal section.
Bidders will find the specifications, bid sheets, and required documentation under this section’s web page. Instructions on mailing bids and the bid opening date and time are also provided. To help you in your bid preparation, we have posted the bid results from the prior year bid opening.
Below are the 2021 Annual Bid Documents and Specifications. All bids must be in sealed envelopes labeled "Attention: Denise Mullaney" and the quoted material designated on the outside of the envelope (ex. "Gravel Bid Enclosed"). All bids must be received by the Elmira Water Board at its office at 261 West Water Street, Elmira, NY 14901 by 1:30PM, EST, on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. At this time the bids will be publicly opened and read.
*Please be aware that any bid arriving after the official time posted (1:30 PM) cannot be opened and will be returned to the bidder.*
